Men of EARTH:

We convey to you our heartfelt condolences on the death of your brother, the thinker and mathematician BERTRAND RUSSELL.

This expeditionary group, which, coming from the solidified star UMMO, lives among the citizens of various nations on EARTH, considers that brother BERTRAND RUSSELL, together with some of his other brothers:

Mohandas K. GANDHI,

Ernesto GUEVARA “Che”,

Helder CÁMARA,

JOHN XXIII,

Martin Luther KING,

Karl MARX,

Emmanuel MOUNIER,

Albert SCHWEITZER,

Leo TOLSTOY and others

Devoted or are devoting their lives to transforming the society into which they were grafted, steering it negentropically towards forms more in keeping with the ethical norms of collective coexistence.

Because they were sensitive to the injustice of which their brothers are victims, and felt as their own the pain, the mental and physical torture of oppressed and marginalized human beings, being ahead in their mental conceptions of the historical stage in which they happen to live, we bow with admiration before them and their work, even while admitting that certain conceptual factors they upheld may have been fallacious or mistaken.

We beg you to pass this note on to your close brothers. The noble attitude of the deceased human towards his brothers massacred in Vietnam by a totalitarian social structure and a foreign nation, his profound studies of semantics, mathematics and ontology, his independence of judgement, his simplicity reflected in his daily life and his constant commitment to the human values of his planet, make him, in our judgement, worthy of this tribute.
